sneakboat lap/cockpit cover

Craig,

That's a great idea. I had been wondering what to do for my Fourrivers. I bought a groundblind kit of Northen flight grass and should be good to go.

These are great idea's, and being a Jersey guy, I like what Craig has done. I have been thinking about doing something like this for a while.

I'm going through this very helpful thread, and hoping to redesign the lap cover for my boat.

One way I assume one deploys this setup is with the cover pulled up to the armpits and the arms above the cover.

Do any of you folks, however, hunt with arms underneath the lap cover? If so, is there a method you use to safely get the gun out from under the cover when it's time to shoot at a bird?

Thanks for any input.

I'll often hunt with my arms under the lap cover. It is much warmer under the cover. The GUN however, stays on top of the cover. Much easier and safer to leave the gun on top and exposed. Just a few loose strands of cover material will hide the gun if needed.

Out of all the boats I've had over the years this Four Rivers Refuge Runner is the one I wish I'd kept. The old back just doesn't like laying down and getting up to shoot anymore but I should have tried harder to find a solution.
