Amen!! Or they shear off inside to save the lower unit, which is fine and dandy but now you can’t get home! I went home and bent her back. I do need to have a spare onboard though.

Very cool story, thanks for sharing. How do you bend back an aluminum prop and not have it crack?

I’ve been pretty fortunate I’d say. To bend it back I heated it up some with a torch and beat it with a hammer using a piece of 2x6 under the blade as to keep it straight. Took it out today and did great. Put two black ducks on the boat too!

Phew tough one, I’ll have to ask him for an exact answer. I’m going to guess early to mid 1980’s though.
