Well, I just picked up my first duck boat! I’m hoping some of you may be able to shed some light on who the builder of this thing was! It’s 11’, and almost all fiberglass. The front part you see was apparently supposed to be a dog hatch, but it was closed off and glassed over. The guy I bought it from said he was the second owner, and he said the fella he purchased it from three years ago thought it was a Higbee, but wasn’t 100% sure. I find it strange the first owner wouldn’t know, but hey, maybe he just has the thing for so long that the name escaped him. The “first” owner was in Monmouth County, NJ.

Here’s a little walk-through video I made of it:

Also, any advice on how to build a spray dodger for this would be appreciated!

Cheers.

Welcome from NC! As a relatively new member myself, I can tell you there are some very helpful and knowledgeable folks here.

I'd suggest posting a few pictures in this thread. I won't speak for others, but in this day and age I'm not going to go into someone's Dropbox and download a video to my phone or computer - particularly when they're new to the community.

Welcome! Hopefully someone from the northeast will jump in to help.
Uploading photos to a thread is easy. Just hit the attach file button

I’ve now included photos in the original post. I originally thought I’d be able to upload the video that way. The dropbox link wasn’t my first choice but that’s the only thing I could figure out. Anyway, normal pictures are there now.

Looks like a higbee other than the squared off chine edge. All higbees I've seen are feather edged.

Might be once of the other higbee variations with a modified top/bottom attachment.

The molds were bought sold several times over the years

William congrats on your purchase! Very beautiful boat! If you use the search function for dodgers you will have more ideas than you will know what to do with. Have fun making it your own. RM
