Sneakbox Renovation

Good morning, Steve~

Your 1 x 3/4 Mahogany is perfect!

I'm looking forward to seeing your work - and getting ready to make some similar thatch rails for another South Bay.

All the best,

SJS

Steve S,

Finally was able to attach the new grass rails. Man I love the way they look. The 5200 is (hopefully) curing as I type this.

Can't believe how long this has taken, but having a full-time job does, sadly, kind of get in the way of boat projects.

I've already lost 2 weekends of our duck season to this project, and I guess the rest of this week, while the product goes through its week-long cure.

Rather than then losing more time to painting over them again (to cover the white 5200 that is showing) I may, for the remainder of this season, just try use them as is once they cure, and hope to do a proper paint touch-up job in the spring.

Thanks again, Steve S, for your kind assistance.

Although the 5200 full cure takes about a week, it usually skins over after a day or so. I just completed another boat (South Bay Duckboat - post coming soon) and sprayed the 5200 after 24 hours - prior to final paint. You might want to hit it with spray paint now - and do final sanding and painting post-season.

(I also splurged and used the more expensive Mahogany-colored 5200)

All the best,

SJS

Steve, I've really enjoyed watching you work on this project, absolutely master level work all around! Your stuff is truly an inspiration to me, thank you for posting.
