sneakbox with dog

Anyone have "in the field" pictures with hunting their sneakboxes with a dog? Im trying to talk myself out of it, but these type of boats are pretty sweet. Just wondering how bad it will be with me and the pup...

Check here it was just talked up today

Hey thanks Geo, is it just the two pics with the dog in the spray shield? Those pictures are what I'm looking for, but also with someone laying in the hull as well...

Any pictures will do though... Thanks

Highlands box, dog sits behind or alongside gunner in cockpit in this setup:

In this example, pardon my crude editing, another highlands box but one with a forward dog box. The dog has it's own cockpit behind the gunner with complete canvas.

Here the dog is exiting the canvas for a retrieve.

I don't know the measurements on a higbee off the top of my head. The main cockpit on a highlands box is 41 inches X 27 inches.

photoshop by fiskars? lol

I saw the Highlands box at Tuckerton. My thought with the dog hole and dodger, is great if you have a seasoned, trained retriever, but if not... he is out of your sight. With you in the front cockpit with a dodger, you can not see what the dog is doing. So he better be steady and not dancing around flaring birds.

I like the idea of the dog right there with you. I know my dog wants to be with me and next to me. He would not do well in that situation at all. He is a snuggler... lol

As you can see, same boat, two different dog situations. My buddy with the dog hatch has an extremely well trained, steady dog. Also the dog has his own canvas so he is just as covered up as the hunter.

The other boat shown the hunter prefers his dog in the cockpit with him, just different preferences.

I've never been so indecisive with choosing a boat. I only hunt with another guy maybe 5-6 times out of the year, and actually prefer 90% to go alone unless the said individuals are in town. So with that said, this would be the ticket... But man it would suck to not have a option for when my out of state buddies come down... Hmmm... Choices choices

Jake these boats are deadly in a lot of situations but you need to have the right setup for your style of gunning unfortunately not 1 boat will do it all going thru the same thing here oh well just gonna have to add another boat to the mix!

Thats what I'm thinking... I sold my "big" rig two seasons ago... so no I'm having to replace it. But once I do... I WILL be getting a sneakbox afterwards!

The first two photos are “how” the sneak boat (Migrator) is taken to where it is hunted out of.
The remaining photos show a few spots plus where the dog “hides”.
