The NYS late snow goose season for all upstate zones is closed until 3/11-4/15. The regs inprint showing then from 1/15-4/15 are now incorrect.Albany is updating the web site to reflect this.
This will ensure they show up in great numbers in February
I've been talking to guides for a spring hunt. They all say to get there in early March as the birds start thinning out by mid March. These spring conservation hunts are intended to help reduce the overpopulating snow geese. Just another example of an uneducated decision by the legislature.
It was the inaction of the feds to grant the change . DEC sent the requst in months ago. Has nothing to do with the NYS Leg's,not their domain. Hopefully it works for you and the birds are around after the 11th.
