I was going through pics and I thought I'd put some up. Not all duck related, but more or less should be interesting content.
Skeet had his first retrieve on a duck back in December at just one year old (he had a bunch of pheasant and grouse retrieves in October), a nice drake woody that dropped right in to the stool...
Can't forget the old man, here with a drake black...
Here is a shot I liked from an inland lake I hunt sometimes...
Black Beauty on a cold morning....
Here is a pic of a real cool event. I shot this deer with the muzzy on a high ridge and he went 50 yards down the "wrong" side, which means a really steep hillside/cliff. I gutted him and got him back up on the ridge and walked out a 1/2 mile to meet Jen and Gus who came to help me drag him out. Anyway, when we got back to the deer, Gus was looking at the bullet wound and asked where the bullet went after the deer. To that question I answered into the ground, since I had waited a bit on the shot for a good backstop. Anyway, about 30 seconds later Gus says... "Dad, is this your bullet?". He found the bullet laying in the leaves, having went through the deer, into the ground and apparently bouncing back out completely spent. Bullet was about 10 yards from the point of impact...
Close up....
Rifle deer in Dec...
Bow deer in Sept. Deer season was very slow and the 2 1/2 year olds payed the price for that. .
New truck and camper ready for adventure...
