I guess with temps in the 90's still, we are lucky to have some roses.

A cross-beaked female black-chinned hummingbird. The first one I have ever seen.

Look at the upper mandible and how it over and down to the right with the lower mandible curving up and to the left.

Saving the best pic for the end. The Rio Grande is once again flowing after almost a month of being dry.

30 days until our regular season opener.

Al You have better eyes than I do. My hummers are a blurr and You can find the ones with crossed bills. Good to see that water.

Rob, my eyes aren't that good but they are a whole bunch better after having both operated on for cataracts and the right eye operated on with a donor's cornea put in place. Called a miracle in my book. In 2007 I could not see much beyond 60 yards. It was fun to see that little tyke with the crossed beak.

Kathleen----glad you liked the flowers. The first one is a red ribbon and the other rose is a Princess Caroline.

Good to see you got some water. We have some up here that you can have. The Wisconsin River is about to break some more levies in Portage, which is just up the road from me. One of our favorite places for lunch on the river, Hookers is under water.
