Some pictures of a 1 degree morning on the Maine salt

Troy~

I cannot believe that nice drake 'Squaw was able to drag your Lab all the way back into your boat!

Great photos all around - those rocky islands in winter are something I want to see with my own eyes someday.

All the best,

That is rugged duck hunting. What a contrast to hunting the upper Mississippi even in icy conditions. You guys are tough!

Truly a beautiful setting! That's one rugged Lab... I'm sure your very proud as most of us are of ours'. Thanks for sharing that!

Thanks Mike. Yes, very proud of Pearl. First lab I've ever owned and trained, all my other dogs were beagles, great little dogs, but not a lab. She made 16 retrieves over two days in those conditions. Hard to measure the size of "heart" but she has a lot of it.

Nice Troy- we got a couple hundred yards from the ramp and the motor died and wouldn't start again. Got all sweaty pulling and paddling...

Thanks Everyone.

Yes Al, Pearl gets some extra calories to burn on these cold days. She amazes me in her desire to get ducks in these frigid conditions. Never a waiver about jumping in, I do take precautions to keep her warm for those who are wondering and the neoprene vests are worth every cent in these conditions. Inside that vest is the warmest place on the boat. Hope everybody has a Merry Christmas and enjoys a healthy and happy New Year.
