I noticed that the hen pintails seem to follow the drakes, not sure if this was just a coincidence -

Of course a trip to the river would not be complete without a few of these guys -

hope I can figure out a way to get closer .........these birds are feeding way out on a sand flat and were not too impressed with me on a folding chair. Might have to take some camo out there and decoys....

Those girls are gorgeous, Dick. Sure looks like you had a great time out on the sand flats sitting in a chair. Too bad someone in the area didn't get a shot of you taking pictures of the ducks. That would have been an interesting angle.
Light, settings, and subject matter---are interesting, are confusing, are frustrating but yet can give you some of the life's biggest thrills!
Well done, sir.

With the current weather, I can see why they are still in Massachusettes and not down here. Supposed to be 60 today, 61 on Saturday and 63 on Sunday. With three weeks left in the season, I doubt the birds will head south. Great pics Dick!

Great shots of those pins! If you decide to try and get closer let me know and I can lend you a layout blind or coffin blind and a few full body pintails....just might be the trick.

Thanks Al - your suggestion was very helpful. I may have also hit a new idea and will send a PM if it works.

Dick great photos!
Did I miss the photos of the TDB done up as your layout hunting/photo blind, or are you holding out on us? lol

They have been on the bay and Back Bay since Thanksgiving. Keep lookin!

Great pics.

We really dont have any numbers to get excited about. We have killed the not so common species when we get a little front. They dont stay long though and we are back to our limits.......of black ducks.

Hi Paul - No you haven't and the funny thing is, after a fair amount of work, I am already trying to figure out some changes but I did get the bottom all touched up and painted and a strip of protection on the keel. Have the battery and gas tank secured in the stern and a half deck attached forward.

Am now trying to figure out a low profile canvas with a little arc right behind me and extending on back.........maybe that slides back out of the way and then slides forward when needed............yikes it will never be done !
