You guys in Illinois that don't know or in pro-gun states might like to read what's currently at stake in Illinois.

Obama said on Meet the Press I believe last Sunday he wants a ban in the first year of his re-election. Remember he grew to power in Illinois politics.

Don't take my word for it. Check for yourselves. Watch your backs...

It made it through a sub comittee with no problem which is pretty scary. I read that it was killed today though. It makes me sick that something like this was even put to paper.

No kidding. The only reason it didn't go to the full senate was there were not enough members in town to carry the vote. The 4 senators the voted "NO" got a call and a thank you this morning.

That is unbelieveable Ed. Would be nice to ask the author how many of these proposals would actually save lfes and to please provide the supporting scientific statistal data.

NY will be facing a similiar bill or bills later this month. Forced confiscation/ buy back was one of the topics being discussed. The other was registration of the firearms. The main focus is on Assault weapon type guns....

If this is allowed to happen then it will only be a matter of time before all semi autos, then no scopes because the pose a threat as being a sniper rifle, bolt actions and so on....
Oh and don't forget the U.N Small Arms Treaty....

Here is an article..

My assumption would be another magazine ban and registration of the firearms as it would bring in revenue for the state. This whole thing is just a political farce. The whole thing both nationally and in NYS makes me sick to my stomach. It is always the hard working, honest, tax paying people of this Country who are punished and have to bear the burden for others who are lazy or commit a crime. I can go on, but I will shut up as I will get my self so worked up I won't be able to sleep tonight.

Best Regards,

I have read this bill. There is similar bill being considered for NY. The specifics have not been put out there yet.

There is an all-out, full-scale assault on the 2nd amendment and the liberty of the citizens of this nation taking place right now. It is unprecedented. This thing has been coordinated in advance. The media and the gov. are intent on disarming the populace. This is one of the scariest situations I have ever experienced.

I implore all of you to pay close attention to the current politics surrounding this situation. We must do everything within our power to stop this. PLEASE write your representatives, write your senators, vote on online polls, engage your fellow citizens, seek to educate them on the importance of an armed populace. Be a good representative of the gun owning community.

Do not think that they will be satisfied with taking away just our defensive weapons. These politicians have made it clear that their intention is total ban and confiscation. They are just waiting for the right opportunity. Give them an inch and they will take it all.

I'm sure most of you have read Dian Fienstiens bill she intends to introduce, but if you haven't, for the love of god, read it. All you have to do is Google it.

I'm sorry I'm rambling a bit, but, take note that the first step toward total confiscation is registration. They must know who has what before they can go door to door collecting. Understand the intent of a gun registry.

I hope you fellows understand the gravity of this situation. You must act now.
