Southbay navy top

I'm trying to buy a full navy top from southbay duckboat. I've tried email and phone calls, no response. Are they still in business? The message on there machine isn't to friendly. Am I better off dealing with someone else? Any help would be great.
Thanks
Pat

In the same boat, so to speak...have been leaving messages and emails for nearly a year. Somebody up on Long Island might have a better idea of whether or not these guys are still in business.

I live on long island.. pretty sure the last owner stopped making them on 2010 others have tried to get parts ect with no response..

They were always a little strange to deal with. I bought a roll of their Navy Cordura camo pattern a few years ago. Still have it. PM for other info. I can always stop by their house for you folks too, just to see if they are still around.

That would be helpful -- I had an agreed price (very reasonable) with John Patin, I believe that was the right name of the guy at the phone number, to replace my cover with one made of 1000 cordura. If they can't handle it, just get me the name of their canvas guy who did their South Bay covers -- I still have the frame and fasteners, etc. so it would be a replacement, not a new build. Thanks, Rufus

Ditto...still need to have that cover done, and if I could ship it up to their canvas guy, that would be great! Thanks, let me know what you find out, Rufus

if southbay boats are out of business maybe I could get the frame work measurements from you and find someone to manufacture the frame and canvas.

That sounds doable...they did not use conduit for the frame, but instead used cable (Red Magnus was a phone company guy and knew his way around wire and cable). I have one complete but mouse eaten cover here that could be used as a pattern, since the canvas is still mounted to the frame. I will want to get it replaced at some point, but if you have a guy who is ready to work on it, we can work out a loaner for the template.

You may want to think twice about copying the southbays design it is not a very good design. You are better off to bent conduit to fit cockpit. Then fit the height to what works for you.
