SPEAKING OF SWAN DECOYS....

YEARS AGO A HUNTING FRIEND OF MINE GAVE ME THESE DEVICES TRADEMARKED AS "REEL-QUICK". THEY ATTACH TO THE BOTTOM OF MY SWAN DECOYS, THEY HAVE A LINE STOP, AND A ENCLOSED SPOOL WITH A CRANK THAT ALLOWS YOU TO "REEL" IN THE DECOY LINE FOR STORAGE. THEY WORK GREAT, AND HAVE HELD UP WELL, BUT I HAVE NEVER BEEN ABLE TO FIND ANY MORE. DOES ANYONE ELSE KNOW WHAT I AM TALKING ABOUT, OR POSSIBLY KNOW WHERE I MIGHT GET A FEW MORE?

As for the reels I have noticed them in older hunting magazines I have collected...An idea for you is have you ever thought about using a Yo-Yo...A fishing yo-yo...They can be found in Cabelas or Bass Pro shops for $24 a dozen...They are either plastic or metal...Plastic would probably be the choice...The caveat is that the mechanism is designed to reel once triggered against line tension...You could probably rig to eliminate this issue...
