Speaking of Waveriders (Vince)

Anyone remember these? These old campaigners haven't seen the light of day in at least twelve years, I guess they are almost 30 years old. Waverider sold these as their 'Coastal Tollers". They have been in shop attic for a long time. They are covered in dust and grime. I use to have ten but lost one due to my wife's garage sale itest. They came as kits that you would finish and paint. I use to use them on a long line as a stringer leading into my spread when we use to layout hunt a lot. They are two feet long and one foot wide. The high heads are 11 inches tall. They will need a good sealing before restoration because they soaked up water last time I used them and they are HEAVY when wet. Hell they are HEAVY when dry!

Robert - Thanks for the photo. Looks like some huge Ringneck Decoys you got there. I cannot recall where Waverider's were made, nor how long they were in business. I ordered mine after I first saw their ad. You have enough cork in those bodies to make em into geese, if the need ever arrives.

I believe they were out of Colorado. I have all my old issues of WILDFOWL magazine. Maybe I'll drag them out and find one of their old ads.

Robert - Thanks. I also have boxes full of old WILDFOWL magazines, as well as Waterfowlers World. Seems like us older guys may be hoarder/collectors, of all things waterfowl related. Part of the addiction...
