Great shots!
Are these pictures from this year??
We're patiently awaiting the spring migration here in Vermont and would love it if you'd send these birds north via I-91.

Great Pics! The Wife and I had about 5000 fly over us ( Middletown, NJ) last Monday evening... heading across Raritan Bay to Long Island - Hudson Valley?? So they are on the way back up North. Thanks for adding the neck band info Brian!! Way Cool... she is an old girl already! Good Luck in the VT area....

Randy,

99% cirtian the Snow Geese you saw will take the Hudson River Route north and then follow the Lake Champlain Canal up to Lake Champlain and connect with the St. Laurence River and take a short rest and then on north to the breeding grounds. The Hudson River Valley and then the Lake Champlain Valley function as the major north South highway for many species of waterfowl coming out of Eastern and Northern Canada.

The Adirondack and Green Mtn's of NY/VT and then the Catskill Mountains west of the Hudson and the Tachonic Hills on the eastern shore funnel migrating birds noerth and south. The freshwater tidal portion of the Hudson River keeps the route open in to January and below the salt line at Bear Mountain the Hudson remains open almost all year. When you see Canada and Snow Geese flying over Monmouth and Ocean Counties those birds are heading for the 350 mile funnel that begins at the mouth of the Hudson River.

Absolutely, outstanding pictures of Snow Geese. What camera and lens set you did your use? I was a snow goose guide for the Blue Goose Hunting Club in Altair, TX back in the early 70's. Your pictures brought back memories. Thank you,

Thank you Bob,
I live across the Highway in Navesink! Small world! That map makes sense, always wondered how they get from there to here!
