Squaring up Tupelo for carving stock??

A buddy gave me some Tupelo but it all looks like it was just hacked off of the bell. It is not square by any means and some pieces are almost triangular shape. Got enough for quite a few teal bodies if I could square it up but not sure how to go about it. Any thoughts?

I used to do it quite a bit. Rough square with an axe, run one side through the joiner, turn 90 to get a second side (keeping the first smooth side on the fence). Square third and fourth side on the bandsaw or tablesaw.
