Still have not seen any birds flying south in NH

So anyone in the northeast..... I am wondering if anyone has seen any birds yet. Local are gone and there are none on Great Bay....... I have never seen this before in 38 years.
 
I got out for a couple hours this PM on one of the many tribs of Great Bay. Was encouraged by the numbers I saw. Probably over 100 birds. Their
willingness to decoy and my shooting were a whole different, and discouraging, story. Kind of a new spot for me. I know were to be set up next time...

Have a spot where I can launch regardless of tide, so got into the Bay early Sunday morning. Saw birds flying high, going somewhere, but not a lot looking for company - all seemed to have a place to go. That'll change once ice locks up the inland water...

Boys,

Give a try on the Bellamy River, up beyond the first bridge. Just about opposite St Thomas High School.
I have been hunting pheasant in the fields there and it seems the ducks like to fly the river and into
the estuary areas leading into it.

Hey Geoff, the ducks can see you are carrying a little 20 ga double, not the usual Benelli! Glad to hear the shorthairs are chasing birds for you...
 
I have not hunted Great Bay for 3 or 4 years now, after not missing a year since the late 70's. Too many blacks. The one bird limit makes it a lot of work for one bird. What birds are you guys seeing ? Any buffies, GE's, or blue bills.? I agree with the assessment that when the surrounding ponds and rivers freeze, the hunting will improve. Hope to see you there.

We have been limiting out every time on sea ducks, but I do want to give the bay another shot.
