Tude as was her call name came to us 9 years ago. A 2yr old trialer small in stature but big in drive. She was fast and marked well ,and handled beautifully when needed ,which was rarely due to her excellent marknig/hunting ability. She often was sent on lost birds who had sailed off after beng crippled. If she had made the mark she would return with the bird. Tude was fearless ,launching herself off a 4ft drop into westerly rollers without a missing astep. On the Hudson we dropper 3 greater's upon arriving at the birds one was only stunned and attacked tude. She dispatched it in short order and finished the job at hand. She hunted with me in all conditions and watching her drag Geese shot in the fields was almost comical. She was an excellent boat dog ,trained to sit in the rear of a sea kayak, lost pond boat or any craft she loved being on the water. She was a soft touch ,and never needed correction . Never refused a retrieve no matter what hellish conditions I forced her to hunt in. I will bury Tude along side her mate Jed down on our duck swamp Red water brook. In this was their spirits can hear the guns and await the command to fetch'm up!!!
