strange things happen out on the big water

Okay either (1) My eyesight is fading worse than I thought or
(2) my brain is.

I replied to a post here (I would SWEAR it was here) from an Alabama location, asking if the by chance knew the Alabama lady duck hunter who gave me the inspiration to writh Pea Green Boat.

And this morning there is no post in this thread from Alabama. Just my reply to a ghost...
I need coffee, quick!

Keith,

Are you a fellow Polar Bear? If so, hurrah for old Phi Chi, and may she never die.

A wonderfully told story! Thanks for sharing.

I have never hunted Willapa, but I've hunted the LCR quite a few times. There are a lot of factors that can combine to - at best - ruin your day out there. I've certainly experienced the onshore winds/incoming tides out there. A ten foot tide at the mouth can become 15 feet or more at the mouth and a true ten feet even 20-25 miles up river. I often anchored my boat out of site, but I always kept my kayak tied off within a few yards of me.
