Sub floor

I am putting a sub floor in a TDB Classic and I don't want to use wood for the stringers. I noticed on a post on this site that someone used pvc tubing. Talking to my local Hone Depot they said PVC will breakdown under cold temperatures , my question is what type of plastic material would be best to use ? The floor is 3/8 marine plywood.

Possibly trex or some other similar composite decking material. Ripped down and squared on a table saw might be a viable water resistant option and definitely stronger than pvc in the cold

wouldn't the pvc serve simply as a mold to put a buttload of fiberglass/resin on?

I'd go with properly sealed wood or trex I guess if you're insistent on spending the money

Will what do you hope to gain by doing this. You could make fiberglass stringers then then what do plan to put down ,adding a lot of weight .
