I am looking to pick up some prints or pencil drawings of ducks or Waterfowling themes. Any suggestions on where I can look to find things like that?

You could look at Bob White Studio and see if there is anything you like. He does some pencil work but not sure what he has available right now. Might be worth emailing to see if there is anything that isn't on the web site. He sure seems like a very nice guy and one of the best current outdoor artists in my opinion.

Tim thanks for the heads up on the website. There are definitely a couple on there that look really nice. One of the Upland prints strikes home as I have a little orange and white setter. Would be a great memory for a pup that has been for me, a once in a lifetime dog.

Clint, I would also agree, I think Tim does great work too. Perhaps a PM to Tim is in order.

Check out michael braun who owns lz decoys believe his website is called waterfowlers workshop

Take a look at an artist named Richard Bishop. He did many etchings and lots of his work can be found on ebay.

Thanks for all of the suggestions so far. Now I need to keep a list of these names to keep on hand and slowly start a small collection of prints. I am still working through my list of books that you guys put together as "must have" reading. I have really been enjoying that adventure/education as well.

Thanks again. There are definitely plenty of wonderful suggestions.

The artist I always liked and never bought is Greg Stender from Oregon. I thought he was on the forum a number of years ago but I don't see him registered so maybe not. If you google his name you will see some of his art. It's also here: http://www.sinkbox.com/products.php?CI=14

Wis you are correct, Greg was a member here in the early years. He used to live down on the Oregon Coast, Florence, Newport, or Reedsport. He used to Scull a bit on Siltcoos Lake, Tahkenich Lake and Coos Bay. We used to have a lot more scullers on this site but they have kind of drifted away. Greg never registered after Eric switched the forum software.

I am a big Greg Stender fan, and was lucky enough to get an original and a few prints from him. I also got a couple of his cormorant silhouettes, one for my scull and one for my father-in-law. I hope I don't offend or copy write violate but here are some thumb nails he shared with us back in the day.

Thanks Scott, I just love the ruggedness of his subjects. IMO he really captures what those special days of wind and fury, ducks and tradition are all about.

Scott-

Those are some great pics. I really like the Bufflehead pic in the middle, the Brant and of course the one with the BBSB.

PETE,

i know we have lost some of the 'early guys' to attrition, some to apathy, some to a loss of commitment to the sport, das ist shade! I don't hunt as much as I used to, that will change, beginning now. I have the solution which will become clear (klar) next jahr.
