very cool sean, i saw this show on fishing halibut in alaska, except the fish were like 300lbs and they were taking them out with bangsticks before bringing them on board haha...

very cool though

I was looking at the city skyline photo while reading the line about halibut at La Push, and thinking "Man, La Push has really grown since I was there".

Yeah, just kinda out of no where! Actually, that was the day of that big thunder/lightening storm we had a few weeks ago. I was picking my fiance and all her friends up (with another boat) after her baccalaureate party in Seattle. Amazingly they all had a blast on the ride back despite teh lightening.

Neat, what is that fugly fish? Your wern't halibut fishing from your boat? looks like one of those soul-less glass ones.

Your launch looks like it was made to ride up and down your rollers out there. What is the history on that boat?

Todd - That fugly fish is a Lingcod, extremely ugly but very good tasting. I personally think the Lingcod is better tasting than the Halibut. And no I did not take my boat halibut fishing. On that particular trip the ocean laid down like a lake, but it is very rarely that way, which makes those soul-less fiberglass boats with a cabin quite comfortable. The Launch is extremely sea worthy, and made just for that type of water as you noted, but it's still an open boat..... It is actually an East Coast lobster boat designed by a guy in your neck of the woods named Pete Culler. This one was built up on San Juan Island here in the Northwest, and to my knowledge is the only one on this side of the country. There are a few however scattered throughout the East Coast. Very fun boat to use and also very functional!
