sunbrella canvas?

Anyone use this canvas? I have to re make a cover and shield for my scull and would like to know how it sow's and if it is he same color on both sides.

Made the dodger as well as side curtains for my Cackler out of Sunbrella , Material is good stuff , but i think i would try to go with something a little more durable , Mine has been in service for about 3 seasons and shows no sign of giving up but i wish that it was thicker . I tried to sew it on a regular machine but you really need the comercial machines to get thorugh multiple layers of the canvas . the color is all the way through . my cover is really never exposed to the weather i store the boat in a garage when not in use . Mike, it's used on my new MLB Chuck Huff. Seams look real good where sewn and it is the same color on both sides. Maybe Mark Rongers can point you in the right direction...good luck
 
Mike, My buddy Carl just posted an ad in the classifieds......give him a call.

I was at his house today and he had a nice heavy Cordura material that was very close in color(both sides) to parkers duck boat paint. He could give you some idea's................Jode
 
I used some for a dodger, seems like decent stuff. Sewed okay with my wife's machine. Places with multiple 4-6 layers was really pushing it for that machine.

I recall Dave Clark not liking it for some reason though, and he's a professional. Maybe he'll stop by and comment?
 
Sunbrella is good fabric if it wasn't they wouldn't give a 5 year warranty on it fading. But 1000 denier cordura is the best for your application. i use that for all the blinds and dodgers i build. The color i just picked up is excellent and almost matches the parkers paint on my boat perfectly. Where in NJ are you, i do have some of this fabric available if you are interested. Thanks, Carl.
