TDB 16’ scull as sneak boat??

Does anyone have any experience hunting two people layout style out of a TDB 16’ scull? Looking at one for sale, would probably try to add flapper boards of some kind to close it in. It looks like it would hide well, I’m just concerned about the layout for shooting with with one hunter in front of another.

Any feedback is greatly appreciated!

This is not what the boat is designed for and I would also agree that it is not a very safe way to hunt.
My vote is pass and look for another hull that is made to hunt two persons.

Curtis,
Anchor that boat in open water properly on an angle over a diver rig and you will shoot a lot of divers. I owned one since 1988. Very stable and seaworthy on small bodies of water.

Two hunters "inline" is a hunting related death waiting to happen.
Agree if both shooters are shooting in the same direction, I've hunted two hunters sitting over decoys from a sculler, although not a TBD. We set up back to back, with a clear understanding of where each of us could shoot.

Hey Curtis,
About 2 years ago, I purchased a Merrymeeting 16' Scull boat from a member in New Jersey. I restored it last season and hunted it for Atlantic Brant here on Long Island, NY. I've hunted 2 guys comfortably granted both are hunting out the side. The boat worked fantastic and I have to say it was a perfect vessel for this location as it draws nearly centimeters of water it's crazy. The maneuverability on these boats works great too. I powered mine with a 6hp Mercury 4-Stroke. The boat is towed out across the bay to the spot then I putter into the marshland with that 6hp. Plenty stable for myself, another and the gear.

(TDB) The Duck Boat Co. Makes customized blinds for these boats as they are still producing them. Lou over at LockStock&Barrell made this boat as the Brant II which is the one I have but TDB has all the accessories & molds.

This can be done I designed mine to be a layout for this season in that battleship grey but again both hunters must hunt off the sides or the guy up in the bow seat will need severe head reconstruction! 😆

Something like that with a 5 or 6 horse long tail mud motor would be a killer one man protected marsh skiff.
