TDB14 w/ stick steering and PTT

Lee,

Think of it like having a 6 O'clock hold on a standard mounted horizontal wheel. Push left to go right, push right to go left. Found that to be the most natural way to mount it for me. It is intended to go front and back not side to side like I use it.

Lee ,Gene mounted his on the foredeck, horizontally,so the tiller goes left and right. The normal mount on a console and/or bracket is vertically ,then the tiller/stick goes fore and aft.

Lee,

Joe explained it well. The steering box is fixed in position and the stick moves horizontally left and right. When it is straight back you go straight, perpendicular to the left you go right, perpendicular to the right you go left. It does not swivel or tilt. Kinda like using the tiller handle on a tiller motor except it does not fold out of the way.

So the stick is in the left turn mode in the pic? And the arm in straight mode is up over the coming pointing to the rear of the boat?

SEE IF THIS WORKS.Side mount,on port combing.

Lee,

I think you have it. The knob just clears the combing when your turn. When it is pointing back at the motor you are going straight. In the picture it is in a full left hand turn. Most turns when under way can be made without going beyond the combing, it can pinch your fingers!

GOTCHA! I was trying to figger out how you could hang over the bow and steer if that was in straight mode in the pic. I didn't know they had an offset to the rod. Makes sense to me now.
