Teal Monday...

The last couple of Mondays at the duck club have been outstanding for green wing teal. With 34,000 GWT on the refuge, we've have excellent wing shooting. The high numbers of ducks cause me to say thank you to all the waterfowl biologists, conservation groups and volunteers who have enabled this over the years. Whatever is being done is working. Keep up the good work and, keep fighting the good fight... May the Good Lord bless each one of you for being the good stewards you are...

Nice Teal Hunt. The Best little speedsters to sharpen your shooting skills. Enjoy the Wildfowl season !!!!!!!!!!!

Looks fantastic!! They have nice color. We shot several GWT while up in Manitoba and had a nice feast. Plucked the breasts and left the skin. Pulled the breast plate off like a dove. Marinated in ginger soy mix. Grilled skin side down till medium rare. What a fantastic little treat!!

Best,
Steve

BTW, in the rig we gunned were the following...

- Pair of Steve Sanford scaup decoys
- Pair of George Williams scaup decoys
- Pair of scaup decoys by the late George Root
- Pair of ringneck decoys by the late George Root
- Pair of Geoff Vine scaup decoys
- 6 GWT decoys by George Williams
- Goldeneye drake by the late Frank Peeters
- Goldeneye drake by Chuck Broomell
- Ringneck drake by Chuck Broomell
- Gregory decoys including 4 GWT, 6 widgeon, 4 gadwall

Pat,

Those birds look fantastic. I've never shot a drake GWT so I'm hoping to get one soon:) There should only be about 33,985 left for the weekend, hehehe.

Pat, I am glad to hear your having good hunting. Its been a really bad season for us up here so I am drooling at the thought of a pile of plucked roasting teal in the freezer.
