Teal Season Bag Limit Changes and Possession Limits Laws Changing?

This is some interesting news. I got all excited but then thought that most likely when that season begins this year there will no water here to hunt over. Still exciting to know that the blue wing teal have done so well. Thanks for the info, Eric.

Just more proof of how great it is to be a duck hunter these days. Being in a new state this year will be my first experience with an early teal season, being able to harvest 6 would be superb.

I would like to see a change in the possession limit as well. I have yet to hear a good argument supporting it with our current daily limits and non-market hunting regulations.

Yes, the FWS will propose a 6 bird limit in the September teal seasons and a change in the possession limits to 3 times the daily bag limit and a few other things.

I thought with all the CRP going back into crop production, the increase in Corn and Soybean acreage, decrease in cereal production, and conversion of pasture and native prairie to crop production, that duck populations are supposed to be nearing the brink of destruction.

All the figureheads in DU, Delta, media, state agencies, and FWS are wringing their hands about habitat loss, but we're raising the teal limit?

Interesting.

This sucks! Well for me at least. We get to see all those teal babies hanging around getting fat all summer and then no teal season for us. Nope, I guess we can't tell them apart from the big ducks. It's not fair!
Glad they are getting shot somewhere.

I'm with Tim. Will the higher bag limit for teal also apply during the regular season? When the cosmic forces all align, the early part of our regular duck season can see awesome numbers of blue and green-wings in two of my favorite spots.
