Simple words - from a simple person.

Laura made it through the surgery well, and was even starting to get hungry a little while ago...then fell asleep.

I heard the phrase I had prayed, pleaded and begged for: the lymph node came back negative for cancer.

They could not start reconstructive surgery because her muscle tissue was a little thin in a couple places, and the surgeon didn't want to risk creating a bulge or even essentially a hernia. So, it will have to wait for a couple months; I'll take it, gladly.

Thanks to all of you who responded, prayed, and kept Laura in your thoughts. I am truly a rich man to have such friends.

She's off to a great start. It will take time to heal and no other way around it. The rough part is over. Now patience.

Best,
Steve

Get some rest now Rick. I know the roller coaster you went though. In the days ahead, you will be very important in a support role.

Fabulous news. Will keep praying for you and Laura. Again, if you need anything or if you want to grab a quick bite to eat for lunch today just to get a break from the hospital, just give me a call.
