The new guy

Just want to say hi to everyone as I am the new guy to the site. I learned about this forum from another member.

I've been duck hunting for about 20 years but have been around boat my whole life.

I hope to be able to give advice where I can and get advice when I need some. I'm pretty excited that I found this forum.

My current rig is an 87 Starcraft that I reworked/rebuilt last year and just picked up a 2007 25hp Yamaha tiller for.

My project of this summer is a sailfish I just got and plan on reworking into a layout/paddler for skinny water.

If you can't tell yet, I have an issue because I like to always have at least one project in the works.

It is good to have you on board, Lew. Just knowing that there is another duck hunter on this site is good news! I'll look forward to your reports this coming fall.

In about 135 more days our early teal season will be here. Just hope we have water by then.

You'll enjoy this site with its endless source of knowledge relating to boats, duck hunting, guns, dogs, calls,.....you name it. My first boat was a 1960's 14ft Starcraft mariner with a 15 hp tiller 2 stroke Merc. Great lightweight boat! We out grew it so I upgraded to a 16ft Tracker Griz, out grew it, and now have an 18ft Lowe Roughneck with a 60HP Evinrude. I've been the same way with guns. Constantly buying, selling, and/or trading. Now I'm using a Benelli Vinci. Love this gun! Anyway, welcome to this site.

Thanks for the warm welcome.

Yes I'm a jersey boy. I live in Gloucester Township (Camden County)

I've been checking out some of the posts and there's a nice network of guys here that all seem to be very helpfull to each other.

Pretty soon I may be picking your brains for my summer project. I just got a used sailfish for free( like a sunfish but a little smaller). I want to convert it to a layout/marsh boat.
