First day of summer and it's been busy. With all the flooding we've all but given up on corn for the farm up north. We need to do some dirt work this summer so we got the water off earlier than normal and instead of losing this area to trees and sump weed we planted it to a long maturity millet. (this is Chiwapa) Hopefully this will be a bit more tolerant of water than the corn. No work on the new pool at the farm just out of town. River is too high to get equipment back in there maybe by late summer early fall???? Corn in the fields there looks great if we can catch a break from mother nature!! LOTS of finger crossing this year. I feel for the folks from St. Joseph up to Sioux City. Lots of levee breeches and overtoppings.

Looks good. I was wondering how your land was looking, I'm almost a little surprised that there isn't more water there.
Even Bismark and Pierre are having flooding from the releases. In some places where they built levees that are holding the heavy rains we have been having are flooding the back sides because the storm sewers can't run into the river. I just heard they were going to start to slowing down the flow next week but not at a very fast pace.
