We found this in an antique shop today - please excuse the glare from the glass, it is actually brightly colored -
it is done in a folk artist sort of style, I almost passed, but she said she liked it and we should get it. Who am I to argue.
I wondered if any one here knew anything about it - was it part of a series or done as a fund raiser? I cannot find mention of it on internet searches although there is lots of info about both the carver and the artist.
it is pencil signed by the subject - the decoy carver Chancy Patterson and by the artist Ward E Herrmann - its numbered as one within a series of 500 and dated 4/28/1982
