First "fuzzies" of the year for me...

Tough to bet any of the gallinaceous "fuzzies" for pure "cute" but it seems the smaller they are the cuter they get...

these are right out of the nest....if they're 2 days old that's stretching it....

Weather in Washington has been excellent for production this Spring....we're in a drought but not so dry that we didn't have a green spring and there are plenty of little hoppers where I saw these.....

Keep em coming.....

Good morning, Steve~

Very cool! Reminds me of my youth on Long Island. My cousin and I - ages 10 and 12 or so - walked into a brood of Bobwhite about that size. Of course, we tried to catch them. Every single one avoided our grasping fingers and scooted between our legs - into the Little Bluestem et cetera to Mom and freedom. Wish we had some quail up here.

All the best,

SJS

CUUUUUUUUUTIES

Hopefully there's a great hatch there this year, despite the drought.

Westsiders Don.....down on the Nisqually Prairie......wish they had been Eastsiders cause then they would have been in the Palouse and so would I have been.....

What great shots,Steve. How the heck did you get those shots with as fast as those little buggers are?

So they have webbed feet? Get back to packing. What you can't pack you can put on permanent loan. You won't get weather this nice in Florida.

Al......human acclimated so not that afraid of people but notice the hen is leading the little ones away while the cockbird stands guard.....the second picture is a long lens and a big crop.....

Brad...will you be back in Washington before August?.....

Steve

Nice shots Steve, I found a couple of "east side" birds this past weekend by Lake Roosevelt with a brood about the same size . Big horn sheep were playing on the hillside for the 3 days I was there. 95+ deg temps sure made the cliff jumping spots refreshing.

Come by for a beer.....

How about end of July early August......anticipate that's when we'll be pulling out and I'm sure there will be stuff that will need to have a place to reside while waiting for my return....
