This can't be right

This is one of those chicken or egg things... How do you shoot ducks to use as decoys if you don't have any decoys?

Todd, it's like bait fishing for stripers. First you go out and jig some mackerel or herring for bait, then you can liveline or fish cut bait.

First you jump shoot half your limit of ducks, then you have a decent decoy spread to set up.

Plastic decoys are more like a sluggo; cork or wood like a fine old wooden plug. Not the same aesthetic at all.

BTW, those things are also awesome for prominently displaying the spread of dead waterfowl on your front lawn to horrify your non-hunting neighbors and their young kids.

And the description in the add refers to "your harvested birds." Can't say dead? Are we using combines to kill ducks now?

Stuffed geese used as decoys called "stuffers" used to be pretty popular, probably a bit expensive though. There is nothing better than feathers. I've made 100's over the years. You put 200 stuffers out and any surrounding rigs will be non participants. I tried to post a picture of one of my rigs but its no use

I'm with you Mark. Placing geese in the field and using stuffers for decoys is one thing but a cradle that holds a dead duck is just wrong in my book. To each his own though.

Duck hunters have a long history of pouring over catalogs and buying the latest gadget. This is the latest gadget in the war of mortal combat between hunters and fowl.
