three blade or two blade mud motor prop?????

Given the following conditions or situation when running a surface drive mud motor does anyone have any experience pro or con as to the benefit of a three blade giving more push and less cavitation. Sandy very shalllow--just enough to float the boat with a load, heavy marsh but large areas of open water both deep and shallow all over the area. Very few weeds, lilly pads etc and no mud running. All of the very shallow running is done at idle. Thanks for any comments,
 
I have never considered running anything but a two blade prop. It works fine just the way it is. I did buy an aftermarket "improved" two blade at one point and promptly replaced it with a new "original" when I realized it didn't work as well. Sand does wear the prop down quickly. My nine inch prop was only seven inches after less than 90 hours of use.
 
Thanks Paul; I just reread my original description of the area and neglected to say that we have so many rocks both large and small in Saginaw Bay of LK Huron and inlets of the other Great Lakes. Under those circumstances I have never considered running "in" the sand but no doubt have had extra wear just when lightly scraping the bottome thanks again.
 
I don't believe there is a rock to be found in either Long Point Bay of Lake Erie or Mitchell's Bay of Lake St. Clair. If there is I have never found it. That allows me to run in very shallow water without concern for damaging the prop.
 
Hey Paul; You are most fortunate--I have hunted Mitchell Bay with the boys from Walpole Is. and also Sugar Is on the east side of the Soo and never found any up at the Soo either. Must be something to do with the Glacier Melting process. Thx again.
