Tipping your guide

I've had guides go all out making sure the decoys are set for the wind, pick you up, take you out, cook your meals, call and retrieve your birds....and I've had guides take me out and dump me in the blind at 0'dark thirty and pick me back up at sunset. I think they all expect tips but some get more than others.
Our OBX guide called us up the day the seasons were set to see if we wanted to book. We wanted to change our normal weekend we book to an earlier weekend but our preferences were already booked. He normally only books the last cut of the season due to work but offered to set up for us the last 2 days of the second cut if we wanted. Turned out to be a great hunt. So I would add that service also comes well before the actual hunt...so those tips last season may get you more next season.

Sounds like a great trip Joe! I'm glad everything worked out to be a positive experience.
Never hunted a flooded field, once in a while I do get a really high tide though!
