Today's hunt brought a white Christmas

Today started out at 3:30am. Forcast was for 4 inches of snow. It was an unusual day to say the least. Usually I try to bag the Can's, redheads and bluebills this time of yr. But no! I wanted to do something different. I guess you could say I am never at peace with myself. I tried to shoot 7 greenheads today. Passed on a canvasback, then passed on many wigeons. Then passed on two flocks of redheads. Waiting for mr. greenhead to show. Our river usually doesn't have any or many greenheads this time of yr. No grain around to hold them. Just catching the tail end of the migration. I only ended up with 5. Passed on five or six suzys. Finally as the day was starting to close I ended up taking a bluebill and a gadwall to finish my limit out. There is probably now about 3000 redheads and another 3000 bluebills on the river. Along with numerous Canvasbacks. The divers are just starting to build. I Am excited for what January is going to bring. I fell so blessed to have such a wanderful place to hunt.
Wishing all a Great New Yr.
Pic 1 is of river playing in the snow. Let her out for a bathroom call.

Gheesh... Yeah that's lousy Gary ;)

Very nice pics. There are very little ducks in our bay, the winds are southern the temps are high, I'm too busy to make a true run at the season. I only have two weekends when I can go duck hunting, and one is next weekend. I hope things turn around but I don't think they will.

Amazing scenery where you are... where are you?

To echo Andrew; "Where ARE you? Where Are you? Washington? passing on canvasbacks to shoot greenheads???
Wonderful pictures and fine story. Being as our season ended more than 2 weeks ago, we are Jonesin' for another 9 months. Thanks for "the fix"!

Yes, where are you? That is beautiful country, nice dog and boat. I wish I was there, and I live in a beautiful place.

I wonder if it would be difficult to have our location noted below our avitar? I'm always interested in where everyone is located, sometimes I click on their profile, but mostly I'm too lazy for that.

Great pictures! Many of us our season is over but enjoy seeing current hunting shots in various parts of the country. Thanks for sharing!
