Driving home from an evening meeting tonight--9:30 at night, west central Maine, December 15.
Had to swerve to miss a frog hopping across the road.

I move to have Chris banned from this site he obviously isn't our kind!

This is my kind of winter. I'll trade no ducks for no snow.
The best part is since it is so bad no one else hunts!
Anyone see birds moving with the stiff north wind yesterday?
A few local lakes we can't hunt have been building #'s. Mallards, buffies, whistlers, geese. unfortunately they are sticking where its safe.

Because I'd rather shoot ducks in shorts down in Florida than in 12 layers in ct.

I drove around all day today with the windows open in my work truck. Saw puddlers in many little swamps. Fewer geese though.
The sound is back up to the low 50's. North zone closes jan 7th (south zone jan 20th) , I don't think it is going to happen in time for duck season. But if January 21st comes and we get a wicked storm I'll lose it.
I'd rather shoot teal and woodies all season and then go catch some specs or reds. Than shovel anymore snow.
One odd thing is I haven't seen any skunks, which usually come out with the warmth.
I'm still wondering what Chuck does with his boxes of kittens.
