Trailering a DuckBoss 15'

Good afternoon all! I'm hoping you can help me.

I'm working to purchase a 15' DuckBoss from another member on this site. he's not selling the trailer and I think the boat might fit on the double-decker trailer I have. The trailer is just at 13' 7" maxed out. It has hull bunks and keel rollers.

Questions:
Will the 15' DuckBoss sit on the trailer well enough with the just more than one-foot difference?
Am I risking damage to the hull by not supporting the transom directly?

Anyone got a 15' trailer for sale/rent so I can get the boat? Kidding, but serious.....

Constructive answers appreciated...
 
Spend the money, set it up right from the start, then all you have to worry about is the wheels/bearings/lights. Yes it will damage the boat if it's not supported correctly, not to mention the danger of it not trailering straight and pulling/stopping of the tow vehicle. I learned the hard way with years of trailering small one design sailboats.
 
I would not trailer a boat without bunks going all the way to the stern. My extends past the stern by about 3"

No way to just put longer bunk boards on the trailer you already have? At least to get the boat home? Should be a simple job.

Mike, What is your trailer rated for weight wise now? Being as short as it is it might only be 800lbs. The boat itself listed at 800 aprox, add the 170 for the mtr. plus battery, gas tank plus, plus, plus. Call a u-hall or local boat shop to rent one, man don't fool around with a $10,000 rig. Then how about fender width, is the boat to wide for your trailer without raising the bunks above the fenders if you even can. Be safe!

I decided NOT to risk putting my new boat on a trailer I have and yesterday purchased a brand new aluminum trailer for the DuckBoss 15 to sit on for the rest of her life. The price, mid-winter doldrums for the dealer, wasn't as bad as I thought it be. Got it below sticker after they added a spare and carrier. Pick it up this afternoon with the plate already on it.... I get to avoid DMV too!!

Cool, I think you will be much happier with that new trailer than fretting about the old one.
