The day was foggy/misty and overcast with a slight wind. Not many ducks flying around so it was a day to take in the swamp coming to life.
As the sun started to come up, a lone hen mallard started coming towards my spread. As she set her wings, some of the mist went around the her wings just as straeks of sun broke through the clouds. I swore the mallard had JATO jet packs on the trailing edge of her wings. I was waiting for her to turn on me a fire a couple of missles my way. It was so cool that I was mesmerized for awhile watching the action around me. It didn't last too long mut it sure was memorable.
For the record, no drugs nor alcohol that morning nor the evening before. Stone cold sober. And I wasn't looking through my defective Nikon binoculars.
