Update!!Baby prayer request

We are expecting our 2nd baby boy next month and our ultrasound last week showed a possible cleft lip/palate. The couldn't tell for sure because his hand was over part of his face. The Doc didn't think that much of it at the time. We go back for another u/s Thurs. and have an appointment next week to go to Birmingham at the Children's Hospital. I certainly understand that many parents would wish ALL their child had was a cleft, but I ask for your prayers that my next little one is as healthy as possible. Thanks and I'll keep you all updated.

Prayers are with you. As a parent of a special needs child with Beckwith-Weidman syndrome I pray every child need not go though what my son Jason has had to go though his entire life.

With our second one on the way I understand where you are coming from. I hope all is well and if you are going to Children's Hospital then you should feel in the BEST care available. I have had some experience with Children's and have nothing but GREAT THINGS to say about them. Will be praying for you.

Didn't have Ultra Sounds when I had my kids so we were scared right up till the Dr. held them up and spun them around. Your little fella is in my prayers.
 
Brien: my prayers go out to you and your family. My daugthers Dr. told her that she was going to have a retarded child,we were devestated,his name was Dr Savage,her DR called her at work and told her that.she changed DR. to Dr. sunshine. my grandson was born march 15,2001 and is normal, some time Dr. don,t know how to interperate the data Best to you and your family. Bill

He has a plan for you, your wife and unborn child. God will be with you through the valleys and on the mountain tops. I pray that He puts a hedge of protection around your family.

Don't sweat the cleft if that is what it is. I have lived with mine all my life and I would say it has made me stronger. My dads uncle had one too. I can tell you it did not keep him or his wife and four healthy kids from ever doing what they wanted. They have made huge progress with options for parents who have children born with clefts today compared to what they could do in 1968.
You and your wife are in our family's thoughts tonight.
 
When prayers go up in numbers I think God shows favor. I will certainly pray for your child in expecting a clean bill of health.With faith and our prayers for a good report, I hope to find out the good news.

We will certainly keep you and your family in our prayers. A friend's little boy was born with a cleft palate and now three years later you'd never know a thing. They are all a gift from God!

Like some on this board, my son was born with special needs, he has CP and he has his issues but as any parent knows you love them all the same. My wife took him for a 45 minute hike up a mountain the other day. They made a wrong turn and 5 hours later emerged from the woods. The amazing thing is that my son kept up and somehow found the strength to do it...

No matter what happens, you will love that child to death I promise. Prayers sent.
