no i turfed the heavy wooden ones and bought these ones,,,from sitting ducks,,which i thought was a great deal at the time so i bought a bunch of them 6 dozen if i remember so i could resell them that i did not need ....6 dozen had a price break,Well right after i got mine they went on sale and i got stuck with alot of them because they were cheaper on the net .. and so i turned out 48 golden eye sillies out of plywood and they fit on just fine then i bought 2 dozen reel geese ,mind you dont bother withthe floating reel geese just buy the cheapest ones you can find and cut the feet off they will work just fine.
One of my buddies dropped by and couldnt believe i was taking a brand new dozen out of the box and cutting the feet off,, i hunt geese on water more then land.. if you dont put in the security screw you can switch back in forth from stake to y board in seconds..
i bought 1 dozen floating style and 1 dozen field style cut the feet off the field set,, you can still use the y`s in the field mind you....plastic is brown and fades to a grayish in alot of sun exposure....
if you end up with water in them no prob drill a hole in both ends and while the inside is wet spray in foam till it comes out the other end wala floats now...
a note '';;; when you use goose silos or big duck silos you need big achors in big current and waves and winds a 10 lber will drag along with just 4 sets on one line....
IVe played around with putting a Y on the end of each long line and let the wind pay the floaters out ,with no anchor on that end it sways back and forth more movement BUT mind you ,you need a lot of space between the lines so they dont tangle and snafu your day...the tide will change and do the same thing so some care is needed when you let the free float around....
hope this helps anymore questions and we here will try and help ya out....
