I bought an old punt that a fellow just wanted to sell to someone who would appreciate it. He had 4 in his rafters of his barn. This one has alot of history, he used to tag along with his dad when he was very young at a hunt club and when the club closed down way way later they hauled all the gear out of the lake, and this punt had always been at the club aslong as anyone could remember. This was originally wood contruction which they glassed over later in years but the punt it from the 1930-40s. Its sat in a nice dry barn ever since it got taken out.

He threw in a couple mallards decoys they made and hunted over at the club so its a fitting pairing.

Those are really nice. I sure enjoyed seeing all of those brant pics. Well done. As for the history shot, don't you just wish that the boat could talk?
Thank you for posting.

I LOVE old boats and the history that goes with them.

Decoys are way cool too.

Did I see a Eurasion Widgeon in one of the pics? Looked like one.

Cool old boat, I love double enders. You got any more photos, perhaps a shot from the end showing the shape a bit more or any of the framework?

Great brant photos as well, I'm going to save those fro reference as there are a bunch of great head positions in there.

Thanks for sharing

Chuck

What a great old boat. Looks to be in to good of shape to not use. Hope you take it out and come back with some pictures for us.

I can just imagine the miles its seen on the water being push polled around. Alot of the old timers still think its the only way to go pushpolling around the marsh.
