More pictures from the trip out in WA. Beautiful scenery, outstanding dog work, deeeelicious food and booze, great company, good shooting….what more could a girl ask for?
There were lots of neat things to sightsee out in WA, when we were driving to and from hunting areas, or just waiting out the rain/snow.
This was pretty cool. A tribute to Lewis and Clark.
Of course Mike did a great job on those wily runnin pheasants.
When we were up in the wheat walking for huns
We would get curious looks from the locals wondering what sort of goofy bastards would be up top in the howling, cold wind walking around
Though inevitably they always decided that we were just far too scary to want to stick around
Mike was definitely not impressed with our stopping to say hello to the locals…he had but one thing in mind…birds…..and we often got this look to hurry up…..
Even when I got my very first double on quail
Mike was ready for the picture taking nonsense to be over….there were more birds to find
And he was right of course
When is he not?
It’s tough work out there
And you’ve always got an audience
But the weather was moving in, so we’d better get a move on
PINK the new blaze orange
And what a good boy Mike was
As he sits there whispering in Steve’s ear how he should have an entire cheeseburger
But c’mon Mike, I know you’ve been hunting in the thistle and brush for 8 days, but wake up for one last push.
It’ll be fun
Though it was a long thirsty walk up the ravine
It did pay off in the end
Sadly, it was time to begin heading home. But not without a couple other neat sights slipped in along the way.
Got to see the salmon doing some prematurespawnjaculations
And then some pretty ladies who were bound and determined to act as though no one was watching them
Soon, it was back at the house for a big cleaning fest. Here was my haul to come home with. A most excellent haul if I do says so myself.
After one last glass of some fiiiiiiine vodka, it was time to get on that plane and head home, but not without one last look over my shoulder to see the sun setting on another most excellent adventure in the uplands of WA. A truly beautiful state.
But there will be more in the future
