Dani,
I've only been truly seasick once but have been queezy many times. Here are a few remedies that do work - not necessarily with everyone nor all the time.
Ginger - candied ginger, though fresh raw ginger is much better. Doesn't have to be peeled, just eat about a 1/4 to 1/2". Curbs nausea and the effects are almost immediate.
Bonine or Dramamine II - pretty much identical and work without causing drowsiness. Best to start taking the night before as well as before your boarding.
Meclizine Hydrocloride(HCL) is the generic form of Bonine/Dramamine II and much cheaper.
Never had much success with the pressure point wrist bands either manual or electronic.
Last resort, when nothing else works is the Scopalomine Patch that goes behind your ear. Doctor prescribed and from what I have heard (never needed them myself) it does work. I know of many scuba divers that use them when on liveaboards, etc.
Good Luck,
