Waders for little kids....

I've been looking for a set of waders for Gus and looked at the typical places (Cabelas, Bass Pro, Mack's). Macks has waders down to kids shoe size 1, but I found this place that has waders all the way down to 2T (which corresponds to like a 2 year old). They have 2T, 3T, 4/5, 5/6, 6/7. Gus' size is $75 to the door, should work great for general mucking around and such.

Unless anyone has a better suggestion, I'm going to give them a try.

Just get a 55 gallon drum of plier handle dip. Drop him in up to his armpits and he'll be good to go. As an added bonus, if he falls in, you can grab him by the ankles and haul him out without worrying about loosing your grip.

Hey Todd,
I bought my kids some waders from okiwear last fall and they are great. The kids love them and so far they have held up to my kids constant wear and tear.

Thanks Guys. I ordered a pair if the OAKIs I linked to above for the simple reason that they were the only place that offered anything close to fitting him at 4 years old.

I got a call from Eric and he suggested the LaCrosse Youth waders as a well made youth wader (http://www.lacrossefootwear.com/hunt/waders/mallardtm-1000g-youth-chest-waders.html). The LaCrosse go down to a pretty small size (13 kids shoe), but the inseam and chest height were way too big (the wader pulled up would come close to the top of his head). Seems like next time he needs a pair, the LaCrosse would be close to fitting and would be the best option.

Again Thanks!

I bought waders for my 11 year old my 7 year old and my 5 year old. They all fit great.

Thanks, your post above made me feel better about the purchase with no experiance with the brand. I wish I had a pair when I was 5!

Hey Tod, these waders are great! I have a pair for each of the twins (nearly 8 now) and for the 4 year-old. The boys all wear them for marsh and field hunts as they do a great job of keeping them warm in the early morning. The felt soles are a little slippery on wooden floors inside the house but all three boys love that too!

Thanks! What is your story these days?!?!?!

Guys, the way kids grow out of things so fast, you should have a kids wader exchange thread on this site and just keep cycling them around till they wear out Rich
