To all dog owners on the duckboat forum -
I am not passing this on from another group but warning you about our
first hand experience from yesterday. Here is short synopsis of what occurred -

Our pup Lily ingested some chewing gum that our youngest daughter had laying around the house. My wife saw the dog with the gum box in her mouth, caught it quickly, realized the product contained Xylitol and we
induced vomiting with 3% hydrogen peroxide and the dog expelled the pieces of gum (most of them still whole) and she is doing fine now. It could have been much worse. I thank my RDH wife for being familiar with Xylitol (it is beneficial for preventing cavities in humans) and it's toxicity to animals and reacting quickly.

Check ANYTHING sugerfree in your house, purse, truck, chewing gum,
candy, foodstuff and see if it contains XYLITOL - GET RID OF IT or
treat it like Kryptonite if it does. It can kill your dog!

Nick,

Thank you for the warning I was not aware of this. I will bring it to the families attention and try to keep it out of the house.

Had NO idea...

BTW, I've discovered that AWS's will eat anything... even more than labs which I thought heretofor was impossible.

Thanks for the tip Nick.
