Waterfowl Youth Day - Anyone here interested in donating a decoy?

There will be waterfowl youth day in Kingsburg Ca on May 19th with about 100 kids attending. In addition to shotgun shooting, archery, bb gun, duck I.D., and many other competitions, there will be one for decoy painting. We always try to give the age group winners a nice decoy for their efforts and was wondering if anyone here would like to donate a decoy to the winner(s).

If anyone reading this is in CA and would like to attend, let me know and I'll get you all the particulars.

Thanks,
Kevin

I was going to be making a canvas seagull for some putz up in the bay area, but I could be swayed to send it to you instead.

That would be different for sure! If it's not made yet, I think a snow goose would have more appeal to the kids but if it's a sea gull you want to make then I'd be thrilled to have it. The novelty of it just might spark their fancy!

Actually I was trying to ruffle Derek's feathers with the comment of giving away his decoy, but I think I can help you out with something none the less.

Chuck

I should have known that, Derek is a sea gull killing machine! If you are willing to send one that would be great. If not, maybe someone can teach Derek to carve?

Kevin -

PM me the address and I'll send you a couple old birds I have. They aren't the most beatiful decoys you've seen, but they should do I'd think. They'll be from my old diver rig that I used to hunt on the Salton Sea down here in SoCal. Hope that works for ya...

Take Care,

GW

I think Grant has the right idea, easier to donate one of our own then to teach Derek anything. I have something in mind, that shouldn't take too much effort to finish...which with the hours I've been working, not requiring a lot of effort is key. If I can't get that done, I'll pull something out of my rig as well. I think I still have your address, but PM it to me just in case...it kind of comes down to that effort thing I already covered...

Chuck - its a good thing I don't live in the "Bay Area", cause I couldn't live with the fact of being referred to as a putz. Saying a guy lives in the bay area when he is from N. CA is a supreme insult in this state, kinda like saying grits are better in Michigan vs. Georgia or New York and New Jersey are one in the same. Unbelievable the crap we have to take by this hard-core moderator. Just shush up and get me my seagull!!! I am working hard on your ruddy duck with water wings!

Kevin - sent you a note, and stuff will be on the way.
D-
