Waterproof Cell Phone

I just lost my cell yesterday during a hunt. Bloop, it was gone. I could have found it, I was only in knee deep water and it landed at my feet, but I knew it would not work anyway. I went to the nearest Verizion store and they have a phone guarenteed to work at a depth of 10meters or they will replace it. I have not been brave enough to dunk it yet but I will give it a try and update everyone. The phone is actually made by Casio.

I have been hunting in MO for three days and its has been great but my camera also got wet yesterday. I am looking for a waterproof camera as well.

It sounds like you need the disposable versions of both. I keep my cell in a ziplock bag, i've dropped it a few times, water over my chest pocket, and water from the boat. In the bag I have had no incidents. it's cheap cheap cheap insurance compared to the $50 deductible i have.

What Leslie said. Friends have dunked their phones, retrieved them and they worked perfectly fine.

The trick I hear is to take out the battery, expose the phone as much as you can and let it sit and air dry. do NOT turn the phone on... after about 3-4 days, viola, it works.

I got that casio when I upgraded, I've destroyed 2 cell phones while duck hunting. I met a guy that runs a pumbing and septic company that has issued them to all his field staff and he swears they can be submerged foor up to 1/2 hour and still work. I was sold.I like the flashlight option too!

that same phone also is one of the few verizon phones with push too talk my girlfriend calls it the phone for the electronic handi capped
my phone count is up too two fishing one duck hunting one swimming

Dropped mine in the drink this year and as soon as I retieved it, I pulled out the battery and tried to blow as much water out as possible. Once I was back at the cabin, I set it on the heat vent to dry overnight. No problems with it since although I will incorporate the use of a ziplock bag next time!!

I wish you would have at least tried to retrieve it. The waterways don't need any extra toxins decomposing in them.

I've lost 2 phones both in the same creek, and both have stopped working. I salvaged the 2nd one's info but the buttons don't function correctly. My friend has the waterproof Verizon phone and loves it. I'm gonna have to change my plan!

They need a waterproof iPhone!

I looked at the waterproof phones, but they lack signal strength. My friend bought one and I could be standing next to him, I would have 3 bars he would have none. Same network. Seems kinda pointless if you can't get a signal where and when you need it. I cary mine in a pelican case now.

There is a water resistant camera on the market, can't remember the maker. You can also buy cheap bag housings for cameras that work.

If you can't hold on to it, tie it to a cord or lanyard. I keep my phone (and truck keys) in my pants pocket under my waders and only use the phone when i'm in the boat or blind or in an emergency. Part of the reason i go hunting is to forget about phones, e-mail and such.

About 3 bucks for one of these. I keep a flint in mine also with my phone.

I lost two phones in the same toilet! I leave them on my desk when I take a dump, put them in a waterproof bag when hunting.
