Anyone have pics of the decoys from this company? They made cork decoys that looked really good. As I remember they sold decoy rigging as well. Had several of their catalogs at one time but never did get to order anything. Was wanting to see some of their work and possibly model some decoys after them.

Rich, if you're still around on this forum, I'm wondering if you still have that Waverider decoy and if you're open to parting with it? My is Waverider's owner's daughter and she helped manufacture these decoys as a teenager in Valley City. Unfortunately, her father has passed and she does not have any of the decoys. I'd like to acquire one for her as a memento of her dad. JLMK - thx!

A few years ago I re-painted some Wave Riders for a friend of Dave Diefenderfer's (here on duckboats.net).
Here is how they came to me:
New paint - from the side:

Pair up close:
I do not recall making any repairs. They seemed a well-made decoy. As usual, I sealed them with spar varnish...(Looks like there were some Blacks, too.)
Then scuff-sanded with 150-grit.... before the new paint (Behr latex).

I have a pair of Wave Rider preening/sleeper Mallard decoys that are in my repaint. Purchased when they were first offered for sale. Wave Riders have a very distinct cork body shape well thought out and user friendly. They still have a favored place in my gunning rig. I've been through Valley City, ND several times when going "Out West" for waterfowl and upland birds. Glad to have decoys that were made in ND as some of my decoys are still out there either in use or on shelves. I always put that pair close to The Sweet Spot of my rig. For many years I did my best to get some decoys from states and provinces that I hunted. When I hold those decoys in my hands many good memories come to mind. In wish I had not repainted them cuz only OP does the decoys justice IMO.
