After several good (and not so good) stabs at naming the man in the photo that was posted.............Ed L. (who seems to have forgoten how to spell his whole last name :^) came up with the correct answer!

Congradulations Ed, email me your address and I will ship you your fine prize asap.

I have always liked the artwork of A.B. Frost (1851-1928) he had a great sense of humor for his time and much of it can be seen in his works like this one titled......"What will you take for them all" a case of a well to do Sportsman that had not had a very productive day in the field, but would sure like to show the boys back at the club house what a good shot he was.

Frost must have traveled some, from the eastern shores to the plains of the west.

A little duck shooting on Barnegat Bay?

Well, I need to get back to packing, the well has been inspected, the surveyor has done his job and the house inspector has done his job, so now all we do is finish packing as escorw closes in 16 days.

New house is on order and will be ready in 8 weeks. We just might make it to Montana for the Fall hunt yet!

Best to all,
Dave

We sold the 80+ acres two weeks ago and we are moving over to our 43+ acre part of the property.....the side that the shop, apartment, barn, ponds and pheasant flight pens are on. We have been planning this move for over a year now Mike.

Judy has been getting the apartment ready for us to stay in while we wait for the new house to be built.

Next step is to buy a travel trailer in Montana whyere we will leave it. I'm tired of trying to find a motel on Pheasant & antelope openers. We will leave teh trailer in a indoor storage place during the winter months. In the late Spring we will tow it down to our friends ranch on the Tongue River just south of Miles City and spend some time visiting with them amd ofcourse...shooting prairie dogs & fishing for Paddlefish on the Yellowstone River between Miles City and Glendive. Judy and I also want to put our camera's to work photographing some of the neat and historical parts of central and eastern Montana.

It's pretty neat Moke, you call the storage place and telol them when you plan to pick up your trailer and they pull it out and have it ready for you when you show up. A quick stop by a market for grub and you are off and on the road.

We plan to keep the 43 acres for about another 3-5 years then sell it and downsize again, plus spend more time travelling & hunting different States.

I'm STILL thinking about that huge Stone Sheep....WOW!

I bet Mac was drooling when he saw it?

Dave,

That kind of caught me off guard reading above about selling out and just as you get the pheasant pen built. I didn't realize you were sectioning things off. Sounds like the right way to do it though. Sounds like you and Judy have a sound plan for the future. My neighbor just bought a "new to him" 5 wheel travel trailer. Man them things are fancy! I could see myself living the life of Reilly hunting across country in my "Up-to-date" "Saratoga land yaht"

BTW...go ahead and keep my prize for the next picture contest...hehe....that was fun.

Ed (the last names' Lydic) L.

Thanks Ed,

You are right, it's amazing what they are now doing in making of travel trailers. The thing that we are looking for are the model with "tip-outs", they add a lot more useable room to the inside.

A friend of mine recently decided to get serious about traveling after selling his business. He bought that new one ton Ford P/U that they are now making for towing in style. It has a big deisel engine and a plush (4 door) interior like nothing I have ever seen. A trick 5th wheel mounting system, huge addition fuel tank in the bed of the truck and a price tag of $52K base price!

He bought a 40' trailer that is more like a house inside, with double tip-outs in the livingroom alone. A huge tip-out bedroom with kingsize bed, huge bathroom, kitchen with refer/freezer and a built in deisel power plant that runs everything. It even has a tip-out frint porch with awning. All that for a mere $84K

We have our sights set a wee bit cheaper and I'd be happy to find a good used 26-28 footer with a kitchen tip-out.

As for the places here Ed, originally we had two tax lots next to each other. One was 23+ acres and the other was 100+ acres. Last September I did a "Lot Line Adjustment" which made the 23 acre side 43+ acres and reduced the 100+ side to 80+ acres and that is the side recently sold. So, now we will have a new home built on the 43 acres overlooking the ponds. (I always wanted to retire and be able to shoot wood ducks from my rocking chair on the front porch) BTW hopefully photo's of that event will be posted this coming Fall.

O.K., I'll keep this old dried up-ant eaten lollipop for the next winner :^)
